Tanner Hall takes the Gold Tanner Hall, who Powder Magazine calls one of the most influential skiers of the past 35 year, proved once again that he is also one of the world's best pipe skiers. At the 2008 12 th Winter X-Games Championship in Aspen, Colorado, Tanner took GOLD in one of the most thrilling SuperPipe competitions in X-Games history. The Winter X-Games (or, Extreme Games) is the premier winter action sports event in the world, featuring athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Moto X, Skiing, SuperPipe, Snowboard and SnowCross. The X Games SuperPipe event was a best-of-three run competition that quickly became a two man pipe duel between two time X-Games medalist Simon Dumont, hailing from Maine (USA), and Montana's own (USA) Tanner Hall . Spectators were thrilled as two of skiing's hottest pipe tacticians stuck some of the most progressive tricks in jib skiing's history. In the end, however, Tanner was unbeatable. His championship run was absolutely perfect. Tanner Hall was champion, once again, giving him ten X-Games medals (7 Gold & 3 Silver) in the past 8 years. The seventh gold medal; the one that puts him ahead of Shaun White and Shaun Palmer on the all-time list as greatest Winter X athlete. Tanner, who b roke both his ankles three years ago on a 130 foot jump, once feared would never recover from the injury. Said Hall: "I remember three summers ago sitting in my house with both my feet up wondering if I'd ever ski again and now I've got my third X Games gold medal in pipe," he said. "It's a crazy feeling for me. It's true you could have whatever you want as long as you try." Dalbello Skiboots congratulates Dalbello Pro Team member Tanner Hall on his X-Games victory.
